Bounty from the Farmer's Market

The Farmers' Market here reminds me of home, the place I grew up. It felt like gardeners with extra bounty rather than farmers direct marketing to the public, which was more the impression I got when we went to the Farmers' Market in Topeka. I'm all for the direct marketing, but I think I prefer this type of market for general shopping purposes. We loaded up a couple of bags and had enough cash left over for some homemade soap (I picked 'sunflower' after lots of deliberation).

Hubby fixed our meal tonight entirely from our early morning purchases at the market. It was delicious. Just like when I was a kid and our meals were directed by whatever my folks were harvesting from their always-huge summer garden.

We were only disappointed that nobody was selling farm-fresh eggs.
