Bubba Hubby Update
Rand 6220 - Tracy 5681
Yes, he's smacking me by 539 points... but I'm not afraid. I've handed him some easy days by being out of town or at work most of the day. He's not showing much smack in his blog... but in person, he's pretty full of himself. All I can say is, "Keep Running, Bubba. I'm right behind you."
An amusing run note: I've made some major improvements in endurance in the past 6-8 months, but I have to admit that I've got no speed. In fact, sometimes I feel funny saying that I'm "running" when what I really do probably amounts to no more than a slow jog. So yesterday we went to a track and hubby was going to walk while I ran. I made it two miles, but I just don't have the heart for running at a track. You never get anywhere!!!
Anyway, I decided to just walk the rest of my time and thought catching up with hubby would be easy. I figured I would just "sprint" the half a track to catch up with him and we'd walk together. Well, after barely a quarter of the track trying to pick up my pace, I was sucking air big time. Then I got the giggles just picturing myself and how ridiculous my sprinting must look, never mind how slow. So by the time I caught up to hubby I was wheezing and gasping and giggling whenever I could catch my breath.
But the best part was at the end of our hour when he challenged me to a race for the final 110 yards (I think that's the distance). I thought he would probably win, but I have to admit I was surprised by just how fast that bubba can run. I mean, HE hasn't even been running, he's been walking. But he sure turned on the speed for our little race -- and beat me soundly.
That's okay -- when he can run/jog as FAR as I can, then we'll have something to talk about.
