Thank goodness I've grown out of New Year's resolutions. Just keep looking forward and setting goals day-by-day, week-by-week, or month-by-month as needed. That's become my standard resolution and it's been working well, so more of the same for 2013.
Our end of year celebration plans were flushed by weather yesterday. A hazard of long-distance friendships in the wintertime is that a little bit of snow and ice can really put a damper on party plans. We didn't end up getting much snow, but what we did get was coming down during our travel time and with the dark and idea of sharing roads with other drivers who might not be making wise choices on a holiday evening, we decided to stay home, watch movies and play games. It was high quality family time.
Today we enjoyed a rousing game of Balderdash with the Oparents (Opa/Oma = grandparents). I should probably be concerned. My children are all turning out to be very accomplished, as well as convincing liars.
