... or should I say... recommencing?
Those of you who have been around a while know that we have suffered a few bathroom woes (and victories) since we've moved into this house. Luckily, I have my blog here to help me remember that it was back in September when we tore up our existing bathroom, successfully installed a new floor and a bathtub, and... well, that's kind of as far as we got. We suffered the winter with exposed 2x4s and a shower so barely functional that we've only used it half a dozen times.
Mutterings around these parts, however, have led to serious talks about the state of our bathroom. Hubby threatened to take some duct tape and chewing gum to it (or some such technique) and I stomped my feet and threw a bit ole' fit about that idea. After all, IF the bathroom (shower, in particular) were to become more truly functional, we'd NEVER actually finish the darned thing. We'd live here for 30 years with it looking exactly as it does right now. Only worse, because the unfinished floor would start to rot and the walls would start to crumble (even more).
So in short, we are, once again, on a mission. A day-by-day plan has been established. We've given ourselves one week to "finish" the bathroom. I purchased and/or rounded up most of the supplies today. If all goes well, we will have one darned good looking room in this old house by Sunday. Or, more likely, we will have at least a bathroom that is fully functional... without the use of duct tape or chewing gum.
