People Who Teach Small People to Crochet Are Saints

That's all I'm saying.

The kiddos participated in Fiber Fun Day today. It was an all day event hosted by the Barb Say, our county 4-H Fiber leader and an all around great person to know if you have kids who are at all interested in crafty-type stuff (especially if you are me... who has a tendency to get tense just looking at needles and thread).

I hung out and assigned myself the job of Fiber Fun Day photographer. (Hey, I know my creative niche.) Enjoyed listening to the kids and the adults talk about their projects. I certainly appreciate the way these people's minds work... Did you know you can quilt with used dryer sheets? They are also supposed to be good for loosening the grime from your dishes. Use them as scrubbies!

Anyway, a few scenes from the day ... these feature my munchkins, but I took many, many more.

Little boy's sisters have been crochetting for a while now, but this was the first time he'd really had a chance to learn (I think he was always playing with legos when the girls were getting lessons from friend's in the past). He stuck with it and seems to have gotten the swing of it.

They had some fiber judging questions set up, as well. Do you know what should be done if Kayla's spirit team sweats get ketchup on them? Actually... I don't remember the actual question, but it was something like that.

Middle Munchkin looks quite serious here, but I think she enjoyed the quilting most. She stayed at this project until everybody else was packing up the leave.

Munchkin #1's ribbon project. They can make these into pillow tops or bags... or whatever they inspires them.

There was felting and spinning and embroidery and more. Spent a lot of time thinking about how much my mom would have enjoyed a day like this with the kids. The kids will surely enjoy having all these new skills/ideas for making stuff with what is left of Grandma's fiber stuffs!
