I entered the room today to find my son, age 6, standing on the arm of a very insubstantial chair. He was "holding up the ceiling" or something.
I closed my eyes, shook the images of what could happen should he fall from that locale from my head, and told him in very firm, but polite terms to get his behind down. "Do you realize how dangerous that could be?" I asked him.
"But Mom," he said, "Life is about the experience. I'm experiencing!!!"
It's hard to argue with that logic.
