Blogging for Bucks

Is it possible to earn money for blogging? I know I’ve asked myself this dozens of times. I’ve even taken on a few freelance jobs that involved writing blog-like content for other people. So why not here on my own blog? I’ve certainly thought, on more than one occasion, that it would be nice to get paid for just writing about the stuff that swarms around in my head.

I found out about payperpost last year when it started popping up on various blogs that I read. Last week was a slow week on the freelance front, so I completed my sign-up and started browsing the site to find out what it was all about.

The opportunities are real. With offers starting at about five dollars per post, you can get paid to add content to your own blog. These aren’t credits, or discounts toward purchasing products elsewhere, but actual dollars.

I’ve been writing online for a long time. This may not be money to retire on, but it’s certainly a better deal than the pennies per view from the Themestream days or the constantly fluctuating pay rates for the product review sites I wrote for years ago.
