So you may remember that it wasn’t too long ago I was bragging about my plumbing adventures. We replaced some water lines and repaired some leaks in another house. Then we took on the ONE bathroom in our own house. We removed a leaky shower, replaced some rotting floors, and put in a new bathtub/shower combination.
Well, as far as you know, that’s what we did.
Yesterday some friends were asking me about Halloween plans. Last year I had a party for the kids and it was great fun. I had in my head that we’d make it an annual event. This year, however, I managed to opt out. NOT because I don’t want to have a party. I love Halloween. It was fun making an entire day of it. But to be honest, I just don’t want people to see my bathroom.
It’s usable – there’s no doubt about that. There are no leaks. The toilet stands firmly on a solid floor. Unfortunately, my bathroom still very much has the appearance of being… under construction. Let’s just say it’s lacking some finishing touches… such as walls and floor covering… to start with.
The folks at Delta Faucets say that bathrooms are the most used room in the home. “Not only will you and your family spend a considerable amount of time in your bathroom over the course of its lifetime, but virtually every guest that enters your home will visit it as well. Create a beautiful room that you’re comfortable in and you would be happy to have guests use.”
Sigh.
I’m pretty sure they were thinking of me when they wrote that.
I’ve been browsing their website (salivating, in fact), envisioning all the ways I can make my bathroom beautiful. Want to help me shop? I am in love with their selection of vanities. I almost wish I had three or four bathrooms to decorate.
How about we say there is going to be a Halloween party at my house next year. I’m going to dedicate myself to putting together a bathroom worthy of all my wonderful guests.

Magoo likes to have an planned event to push a project to it's end. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't! LOL We do tend to get things to the functional stage and stall. There are shows on HGTV just about that very thing - finishing a project in which the homeowner lost interest. Take it one step at a time and it will be done! Good luck! Magoo's Mom
Magoo is my biggest cheerleader (and my biggest inspiration). When/if I ever get to a place to really decorate my home, I'm calling Magoo to help me figure out the color thing. She's got a gene there that I am guessing originated with you (Maggo's Mom)! Whatever it is -- I don't have it!
