My oldest, age 9, made her first online purchase today. She looked up the website, searched for the product, and then there was no stopping her. "Give me your credit card, Mom. I'm going to buy it."
Well... that's me putting words into her mouth.
It was actually a product for the dog, a "medication" that I've been saying for weeks I was going to shop for online because I didn't want to pay the vet another $18 for a bottle of fish oil. My daughter was tired of waiting. She volunteered to look it up for me, so how could I refuse? I have to admit that handing over the credit card made me feel a bit queasy. I really wanted to do that part myself, but she had done all the work leading up to the purchase so I turned over the credit card and let her complete the transaction.
It's probably a small thing... but somehow, it felt like a really big thing.
