Three days have passed with relatively little activity on the novel. I can blame Monday and today on work. Today, in fact, I left home at 8:30 am and didn't return home till after 10:30 pm. I had a date after work -- Mom's Night Out... always fun and always worth it.
Anyway, I had this feeling on Sunday that I had gotten distracted from the point of my story. I had gone down the wrong path. Perhaps it was stuff I knew about my characters, but it wasn't stuff that was important to the story. So I've spent some time reading, trying to figure out the exact point I started to stray and the plan was/is to take it from there. It's hard to be so close... and yet this far away. Cliche.
If I weren't so doggone tired right now... I'd take a whack at it. But trying to work in the state I am in would be stupid. My eyes are dry. My head aches a little. I simply need to be in bed. So that's where I'm headed. Tomorrow... my plan is to make up for the last three days.
Nine days to go. I can't even imagine why I still feel optimistic about this... but I do.
