It wasn't the productive weekend I had planned... at least not in terms of novel writing. I did clean out my email box. I did answer a number of emails that I had been storing for some time. I also spent some quality time at the gym... and that should count for something. Tonight is another critique group meeting, and I basically just devoted an hour and a half to obsessing over the four pages I will take to read. Then I fiddled with my printer for far too much time. Silliness. It's so easy to get otherwise occupied by complete silliness.
Angela reminds us that we have 27 days to go in the novel plan challenge. Can I really do this in 27 days? Not if I continue to let my focus stray so thoroughly. (Did I tell you how nice my fingernails look after a complete buffing and cuticle treatment?)
This weekend I met Monica Jackson's mother at work. This is the kind of thing I love about my job. I haven't yet read any of Monica's books, but she is next on my list. Her mom even told me the story of how she got started writing. "Her first novel was written in my living room," she said proudly. So cool. Anyway, Monica is a Kansan and a published author.
And now I'm off to critique group.
