I've long wanted to blog about writing my novel. But it's hard to convince yourself to take the time to start a blog when you haven't even taken the time to work on the novel. That, or you take the time to work on the novel and become so engrossed that you end up with no time left to start the blog. Today, I worked on the novel. 1500 words added. This is good since the work, at this point, is basically a second draft. The so-called first draft was finished well over a year ago.
But perhaps I should just start with where I am now. In January, I signed up for Angela's 3-month novel plan program. My goal was to rewrite my novel in three months. I've had many moments of clarity and inspiration since we started, but the last couple of weeks have been rather rough. I am currently looking at about 30,000 words of "polished" rewrite... a long way to go to finish the novel.
Anyway, I am now sitting on the fence. Part of me is saying, "Go, Go, Go... you will feel so good to finish that novel!" (As well, it will be cool to allow myself to start the next one.) And part of me is saying, "Ehh... it will happen eventually. Why push yourself?"
Obviously there is more to talk about here. However, you will have to wait for the bits and pieces for the whole story. It's really late now and I have word that a hot bath is waiting. Can't turn it down. Morning (and work) comes early.
