Trick or Treat!

Munchkin #1 went away for the weekend and we kept three other kids here in return. I love these kids and the energy they bring into our home. I love the laughter and the singing and the way four pizzas and a bowl of macaroni disappear in the blink of an eye. I love the way they roam from indoors to outdoors to in again.

Had our now-annual Halloween party last night. I'm so glad I've found a group of people (adults and kids) who are willing to dress up and have this fun. I always think so much about my mom this time of year. I think of how much she would love our costumes and our get-togethers and how much she would love meeting all these people who have come to share my life in the years since she's been gone.

Halloween Party - 2011

The pace of things around here is slowing down and I'm looking forward to more of less. Twice weekly farmers markets have ended for the season. The call for travel, which began with the state fair in mid-September and included two trips to Illinois and a weekend in Coffeyville for the Kansas Authors Club convention, is looking to be done for a while. We've nearly completed the transition to hubby's new office. I am looking forward to settling into a new routine.

Eat, drink and be scary!

Link from the Legend of Zelda, a Mime, A K-State Fan (yes! scary!!), and another  Mime.

The mime was my costume of choice when I was a teen and I think the girls enjoyed dressing up this way, as well. They looked great, though you would not believe how hard it was to find white face paint in this town!!!

Me and the hubby.
