Return of the "Fancy" Dinner

The kids revived our "fancy" dinner routine a few weeks ago, although the focus hasn't been so much on a fancy table setting (as it used to be) as foods that are a little more involved than our everyday fair. Munchkin Boy and Middle Munchkin got us started with this meal -- planned and executed entirely by the two them.

Cheese soup in a bread bowl.
The cheese soup was pretty fabulous - had grated carrots, chopped green onions, tomato paste, cream cheese, and shredded cheddar cheese, of course. I learned later that I had been the inspiration for the bread bowls. I had heard that they were making bread and soup and made the bread bowl connection. I didn't realize that was not part of the original plan until they told me later, "the bread bowls were a great idea, Mom."

Chocolate Rum Torte Cake.
This was rich and creamy. Yum!

This week, Hubby and Munchkin #1 made cheesy chicken enchiladas. Also delicious, but I was so busy eating I forgot to get any pictures.

BS -- The list is getting longer. If you don't come soon, you're going to have to come to stay for a mighty long time ;-)
