Ass over Applecart

I believe that's the term my mom would have used for it. On this morning's bike ride, that's the direction I went. Hubby said something about looking at something... and I did. Apparently, I turned my handlebars with my head. There must have been some braking involved, as well. Funny... I was there, but I'm not entirely clear on the order of events.

Needless to say, I was merrily riding along and then the ground was fast coming at me. First full flip I've done since my gymnastics days many, many years ago. And my helmet served it's purpose. I distinctly heard the ding as the top of my head hit the pavement, but my head is little worse for the wear.

A few bruises, but mostly my ego. Got the icepack attached to my left hand so that I can still type. That's the important part, right?

Yikes! Glad you're mostly OK. The helmet saved the day - and your head!

By whatever means necessary, you must still type! ;)
Glad you had your helmet! (I did the same thing YEARS ago...when I was a kid and my parents didn't have a helmet rule--or a helmet, for that matter! Had a nice little concussion to go with the bumps and bruises so I had no recollection of the event for a few hours!
Take care of yourself--and maybe take a break from the bike for today!

I'm glad it's no worse than it was. I started to write "Yikes!" but Cheryl already had said the obvious thing.

I hope you're well soon.

Ouch - I had a similar accident about a year ago when I was traveling about 20km/h and my pedal hit a bit of pavement that a tree root had lifted. I sailed quite a ways and messed up my knee for a few months.

Don't forget now that your helmet has been deployed, so to speak, you should get yourself a new one.
